"Affliction" for contrabass solo (2018)
Work written in the memory of the victims of the great fire at Mati resort, Greece in July 2018. It is dedicated to French contrabassist Thierry Barbé, principal contrabass in the Paris Opera Symphony Orchestra and professor in the Paris Conservatory (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris), who was actually the motive for this composition. It is based on: a. a 11-tone row with D as supplementary, b. Thierry Barbé letter-name notes and c. perfect 4th interval.
Thierry gave the world premiere at the "Ignacy Jan Paderewski " Academy of Music in Poznań, Poland, on 14 December 2018.
